Lightbulb just an idea

After one of new profession called assasin have confirmed, I thought of few ideas.

Assasin: A dual-wielding, adrenaline-energy based profession who specialized in covert operations and counter-tactic strategies. Assasin masters in all weapons, but has its own unique abilties in "chargable" weapons. Assasin weapons can be divided into 3 catagories.

-Weapons-
=>Small weapon(chargable): Weapons such as dagger, shuriken, and etc. Chargable means you carry stacked(recharges after the battle) weapon which allows you to throw with activation of proper skill. For example, if weapon has 11 charges, you will be able to throw that weapon 10 times. Once reaches 1, then you no longer can throw until weapon is recharged. You can "dual wield" small weapons.

=>Medium Weapon(chargable): Medium sword, katana and etc. Chargable...not as much as small weapons, but has higher damage output. Dual-wieldable.

=>Large Weapons(non-chargable): "Current" guildwars weapons...not chargable, and single hand use only. Has highest damage output

Assasin has following attributes...along with few skill examples:

=Covert Ops(Assasin Primary): For each point on this attributes, you attack x% faster
-Assasinate(Elite, 4 covert ops or higher)(x adrenaline, x energy): If you killed an opponent with this skill, first rez attempt by opponent fails.
-Kidnap(x adrenaline, x energy, 1 energy upkeep): Hex spell. Whenever you receives damage, half of its damage is directed to target opponent.
-Disguise(Elite, x adren, x energy): For 5 seconds, target opponent receives damage instead of you.
-Throw weapon(x energy): You throw weapons at target opponent. +x amount of damage on impact. Dual wield results 2x damage output.
-Poison throw(x energy, dual wield only): target poisoned for x second. 2x damage on impact.
-Bull's eye(x energy, dual wield only): interrupts target. If it was a spell, target is dazed. 2x damage
-Sniper(x energy): You throw weapon from great distance. 3x range with +x damage mod.
-Stealth(Elite, x energy): Invisible for 10 seconds. Movement speed increased by x percent.

=Counter Ops: Has skills that disrupts enemy tactics.
-For the team!(Elite, x adren, x energy): Shout. For 5 seconds, all damages your party member(s) receive are direct to you.
-Never!(Elite, x adren, x energy): Shout. Your party members become immune to enchantments, conditions, hexes for 15 seconds.
-Anti-trap(x energy): Enchantment. Disable traps if target ally activates it.
-Reset trap(Elite, x adren, x energy): Enchantment. If target ally activates a trap, that trap becomes yours.
-Bribe(Elite, 10 counter ops or higher)(x adren, x energy): Hex. Whenever target opponent casts spell, benefitable spells benefit your random team member. Harmful spells harm random opponent member.
-Treaty(x adren, x energy): For 10 seconds, your team becomes immune to level x or lower spirit's effect.

=Multi-Weapon Specialist(Something to do with wielding variety of weapons) *Still thinking*

Well...it's just brainstorm ideas

A-Net should stick to their OWN plans and make characters according to them not put in Assassin who IMO is out of place with the world of Guild Wars.

But who know.. Assassin might turn out to be fun but i thought the gameplay within GW isn't about being sneaky or stealthy but to be the best of the best and kill everything you met!
Im agreeing with you. People are just going to tell arena net to give the assassin insane skills that make no sense at all, just so they can be better than everyone else. If arena net gives them sneaky skills it will be stupid, Guild Wars isn't about stealthiness, its about rushing in and using skills to an advantage, not using skills to be rigged to go be able to hit someone and runaway until you can catch them off guard again.

I don't get the big deal about having the Assassin do things like find gold and pick locks. That kind of thing has no place in PvP and in strategic combat in general, so why on earth would ArenaNet consider this?

maybe the assasin is part of the story? maybe they have the whole story of guildwars planed out already and are putting the assasin in as needed..or maybe not.

or how about instead of a stealth skill as in smaller agro bubble or undetect how bout like a magic based assasin that used dark energy(sorta like how monk has alot of light kind of things) and one of the speacil things would be disguise (copy appearance of an enemey). i know theres a flaw concept their like u cant copy the apearance of a giant bone dragon or a snake thing but how bout change into a form that is say friendly to the enemey or the enemey them selves if its a creature has 2 arms and 2 legs and a head. just speculation. i got the dark/shadow energy thing from the thing in the article "shadow stepping" sorry if this was already mentioned

just some speculation

Yes, Arena Net is going to give the Assassin "insane" skills just because people tell them to. Uh huh. Because Arena Net has never cared for balance right? *shakes head*

And Smog, you still havent addressed how Halloween items "corrupted" the game yet. Hahahaha.

I was thinking I'd love a Bard class, with musical enchantments to help defensively and some offensively. I was hoping one of the new classes might provide some defensive assistance so it's not just a job for Monks.

So I'd be all over that.

Though I also thought if they ever put in a dual weilding/fast attack speed class that IW would make a big splash with it.

Because, uh, we're the ones who buy their games? If they do stuff that a lot of people like-- for instance, put in assassins-- then that many more people will buy the new chapter. For instance, I might buy it solely for the assassin class.

Well, assassins kinda do both. They sneak around, then they kill stuff. I'm guessing that's why they went with Assassin over Rogue, since Rogues are more oriented towards stealing and things like that.

As for Bards, I would love that. And honestly, that's my prediction for a new class in Chapter 2, since they're easily recognized, versatile-- they could play a number of roles that need filling, depending on which way the devs go with them-- and they fit in with the general feel of the game. We'll see, though.

Assasin is just a LABEL...all the rest is just your fears and hopes.
No need it has to fit the stereotype of other mmorpg.

Things will be allright guys.
It will be balanced after some weeks boosting/nerfing.
It will be fun and unique to play, espacially in combination with existing professions.
It will not be uber.

In ANet we trust.
Amen.
